About Me
You shouldn't have to fight your own mind just to get through the day.
When you are dealing with OCD, ADHD, or overwhelming anxiety, life can feel exhausting. You are likely trying as hard as you can to cope, but the old tools just aren't working anymore. It's frustrating to feel stuck in the same cycles, overwhelmed by your circumstances, and unable to move forward despite your best efforts.
I know exactly how heavy that weight feels. During my college years, I struggled with thoughts and emotions I felt I could never escape. No matter how much effort I put in, I couldn't get free. I believe that when we heal, our pain has a way of turning into our passion. As I began to find freedom myself, I could not help but turn around and start helping others find the same freedom.
Therapy Tools
Since 2012 I have worked in several different mental health roles in the Lansing area (case manager, supervisor, direct care provider and therapist). In 2019 I started my own private practice in East Lansing as an outpatient therapist to focus on the clients who I really wanted to connect with and serve.
When working with clients with OCD symptoms, I use several different interventions from different therapy modalities including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Exposure and Response Prevention and Inference based Cognitive Behavioral Therapy.
When working with clients on productivity and impulsivity issues I use several different therapy modalities including: Collaborative and Proactive Solutions, the STAND model, behavioral modification, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Motivational Interviewing.
Regardless of the different problems my clients and I address my philosophy is that helping people find the right individualized tools for themselves with the belief that usually people don't need to fight harder, they need to fight different.
Areas of clinical focus are:
- Obsessive Compulsive Disorder
- Anxiety Disorders
- ADHD (productivity/impulsivity issues)
- Parenting/Behavior Modification
- Anger Management
- Peer Relationships/Social Skills
- Christianity
